First Communion & Confirmation

As parents/guardians, you are the first educators, entrusted with the task of forming and nurturing your child to grow and be a disciple of Jesus. Your role is therefore vital and pivotal. In order to begin the period of preparation for your child’s reception of the Sacraments and to register your child for the Sacraments please follow these steps after viewing the message from Fr. Bosco Wong:

STEP #1: Click here to read a brief message about the partnership of Parents-Catholic School-Church.

STEP #2: The most important preparation is to bring your child to the church, so that they experience worship and grow in their relationship with Jesus. During these pandemic times that might not be possible. If you cannot come here in person please celebrate with us by livestream on Saturday at 4:30pm or watch the recorded mass on Sunday after 8:00 am. The link is on our main page. We ask you also to help prepare your child at home using an e-Resource called “Growing Up Catholic” which we will e-mail to you. If your child attends a public school it will be an important part of their preparation, if your child attends a Catholic school (including Our Lady of Fatima or Dr FJ McDonald) it will supplement what they are learning in the curriculum.

If your child was previously registered to receive 1st Communion in May 2020:

THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS OCTOBER 15, 2020. If you miss the deadline then you are welcome to register next year and you may continue to prepare your child at home and by connecting with the church.

STEP #3: After your registration is confirmed we will e-mail the first session of e-Resource handouts. Please print them and work on them with your child. Subsequent sessions will be regularly e-mailed to you every few weeks.
